Tickets & Fares

The Line 1 of the Seville Underground carries out a route that is divided in three fare zones.

Map of Metro de Sevilla

The passage from one fare zone to another is known as a “hop” and the fare is set by the number of “hops” that travellers make between the point of origin and destination of their journey. Three types of hops can be made:

  • 0 hops: We move through the same stretch.
  • 1 hop: We move on 2 stretches.
  • 2 hops: We move on all three stretches that make up the Line 1.

The Blas Infante and Pablo de Olavide stations are “border stations” and are considered common to both sections converging on it. If the journey is carried out from the confluent sections to one of these stations, it is considered as 0 hops.

About travel tickets

The Seville Underground travel tickets are given in rechargeable and reusable cards. This allows the traveller to acquire different types of travel tickets, depending on personal needs, without having to buy a different ticket each time they travel. The only requirement for changing the type of travel card (from single to return, Underground Travelcard or the Travelcard plus 45) by making use of the same card is that this is completely run out or it has completed its validity period.

When a Seville Underground travel ticket is acquired for the first time, this has a 1€ cost associated to the card. This amount does not have to be paid in the following top ups or re-use of the card. The cost associated to the card can be given back to the traveller in the space of one year from the time of purchase, through the existing reimbursement machines in every station.

Remember:

  • If you are going to travel more than once over the year, keep hold of your card to top it up or re-use it. By doing so, you optimise the emission of new cards and contribute to a sustainable use of the resources.
  • In the case of loss or theft of the card, this cannot be recuperated.
  • In the case of ticket deterioration for reasons attributable to the user or by misuse, this may be exchanged by the Seville Underground, with the cost of the exchange being paid by the user. To that end, the user is considered attributable to the deterioration of the ticket that has successfully completed the first two validations.
  • The cards damaged by no fault of the user will be exchanged by the Seville Underground with no costs.
  • Each passenger must be provided with a valid ticket. The breach of this obligation will be considered as an offence that will be punished in accordance with the current subject legislation.
